And rightly so: Ohio ranks among the top 10 tomato-producing states in the U.S. We all have our favorite recipes, yet we know nothing beats a freshly sliced, warm-to-the-touch, summer tomato, sprinkled with salt and pepper. Here are several ways to use those delicate fruits fresh off the vine. These are year-round favorites that simply sing when made with fresh, vine-ripened, local fruits, which are usually a bit sweeter and less acidic than their store-bought counterparts.
